Mr. John Matson
Organist and Choirmaster
John was born in Minnesota in 1954 and grew up in Wisconsin. Since age 14, he has been a church organist. He obtained a B.A. in Music Education/ Oral Communications/ Theater Arts, and later an M.A. in Music Education and taught music, theatre and music appreciation in different Public Schools and community colleges from 1976-2004.
While in the U.S., John had four foster children, was the Central Gulf Coast Diocese Refugee Coordinator, and coordinated of the Amerasian Mentor Program. He has two adopted sons from India: Erik and Cyrus. John moved to Peru in 2005 with his, now deceased mother Ruth. He teaches English in Lima.
On Sunday's there is a small worship group who help lead the singing. At certain times of the year, eg. Christmas, a choir is formed. If you are interested in joining this years choir to sing at the carol service, please contact us.
