Last Saturday we held our annual Cathedral Christmas Bazaar from 10am to 2pm, and what a fun day it was for all. We had a great attendance and many people purchased some delightful Christmas presents from the varied stalls, as well as bargains on the White Elephant stall and Esthers Closet. It also provided a wonderful opportunity for friends to meet up and chat in the Garden Café, ignoring diet and enjoying delicious food and drink. We had our faces painted, played games such as sapo, treasure hunt, guess the 'Chin Chins' in the jar and had lots of fun with the new Mono bean bag toss! And, of course, the raffle with its 40 prizes including a wide-screen TV and trips to Cuzco and Mancora plus any more. So far, the net taken is around S/.20,000. Thank you so much to all who helped towards the Bazaar, whether in the preparations, during the event or in the clearing up and we are very grateful to all those who donated prizes or items for sale. If you have any photos which you could share with us, please do so we can share them with everyone else on our Facebook page, email them to us at goodshepherdlima@gmail.com. This Wednesday 23rd Nov at 7pm, there will be a meeting for all those interested in hearing about the consultation in Chile (at the beginning of October) and the Provincial Syndo (beginning of Nov). There will be reports of each, and time for question. The meeting is for both English and Spanish speaking congregations. It will be in Spanish but there will be translation. This months council meeting summary is now available to view on the website. Please click here to view Past summaries can also be read here Christmas Box project! It's that time of year again and we need volunteers to make up boxes for some children for Christmas. We have several children who still require a box to be made, these children are mainly disabled and may require special gifts. Please see Penny Marcés if you are interested; this is now urgent. Once given the name and age of the child, their box must have an item(s) from each of the following categories:
It was also noted during the book sale, that we have NO non fiction books left. So if you have any that you could possibly donate to us, we would greatly appreciate it, please bring them to the Cathedral door on Av Santa Maria clearly marked as donations for book sale. The carol service is coming up soon, and do you have a particular carol that you would love to hear? If so, then get your carol requests in NOW! Speak to John Matson or Penny Marces. And don't forget to check out our events page for all the up coming services we have over the Christmas period to get them in your diary! Finally, if you would like to help in any way in the Cathedral, as a sidesperson, reader, mending books etc, please see Martha Rivera or Penny Marcés.
