Calling all cooks, bakers and anyone else who wants to have a few mornings of fun and chat whilst chopping, mixing and sometimes getting down right messy! See picture, below, for proof
We're getting together again this year to prepare our famous Christmas pudding and jars of mincemeat which we make by hand, from scratch to sell at our Christmas Bazaar.
Whether you're an expert or have absolutely no idea what mincemeat even is, don't worry we're here every step and there's a job for everyone. All we ask is that you can bring your own knife and cutting board to use.
Christmas Pudding preparations:
Thursday and Friday, September 27 and 28, starting at 10:00 a.m. in the kitchen.
Friday 5, starting at 11:00 in the kitchen.
EDIT: No longer meeting Thursday 4th, and Friday will start no earlier than 11am due to services in the Cathedral
Come along to as many times as you can make it to, can't wait to see you there

Let the planning begin.....
It may only be August, but our cogs are fully in action for preparing for our upcoming Christmas Bazaar and we need your help! So what can you do to help:
1: While you are having your ‘Spring Clean’ over the next couple of months, we encourage you to donate any items that you no longer use for us to sell in our stalls. For Esther’s Closet we take all men’s, women’s and children’s used clothes, as well as shoes, handbags, accessories and jewellery.
If you have any spare hangers you could donate for use during the sale, please also drop them off. We also take household goods, toys and general bric-a-brac for the White Elephant stand.
If your items are clean and in good condition, please bring them to the cathedral anytime during the week.
2: Is there something you could donate for the raffle? Perhaps 2 or 3 or 4 going in on something bigger/nicer that will help to sell more tickets. Do you know of someone who owns a hotel, spa, restaurant, etc. who might donate a voucher for the bazaar? The church office can send an official letter, if that will help in getting the donation. If not for the raffle, our games also need prizes, so donations of any size and for any age are welcome.
3: If you would prefer to get your hands dirty to help, then we are also looking for people to make jams, chutney, lemon curd and marmalades for the church’s sale table. We’re open to classic flavours and trying new things, so give us everything you’ve got.
If you have any queries, questions or suggestions, please get in touch!
